Believe it or not, THIS wedding was the very last one of my 2015 season..don’t let the photos fool you – this was in December!!! When I tell you that Brittany (my insanely gorgeous bride) looked so calm and comfortable because it was literally like SUMMER outside..that is no joke.
Brittany & Trevor decided to do a “First Look” session and wander around the streets of Newport, RI for a few hours before their evening ceremony. I’ve said this before and I will say it a million times over, I am absolutely in love with the first look session. Everything from the excitement leading up to that moment where the groom turns around and sees his lovely bride, the look on his face, that smile on hers, the happy tears, their shared feeling of comfort and certainty – and that “holy crap, we’re doing this!” moment.
So we romped around the streets, took advantage of the beautiful historic gates of Newport, found a dreamy little woody opening, chased the sun, joked around, and celebrated every minute leading up to the ceremony. Once finished, we headed to Newport Vineyards where both sides of family were waiting for photos. Later on, as twilight set in, our ceremony backdrop was a mix of the industrial stainless steel wine fermentation tanks and wooden barrels of wine stacked up from floor to ceiling. The reception to follow included a great band, some thoughtful and hilarious speeches, delicious food and cupcakes, tons of dancing (Trevor’s little nephew stole the floor!) and even a visit from Santa!
The whole day seemed to flow so effortlessly and by the end of the night, I felt as though Brittany & Trevor were old friends of mine. I mean..their night had absolutely everything that makes life worth living (in my book) – great style, a vineyard, build your own taco dinner (!!) AND Trevor even drove to Vermont a few days before the wedding and picked up his own kegs of Hillfarmstead beer to offer at their open bar…what?! It’s like they were speaking directly to my soul.
So happy to have met this couple and had the opportunity to get to know them. You guys…thank you SO much for being just plain awesome.
