Jennifer + Timothy: Intimate Oceanfront Wedding at Castle Hill Inn in Newport, Rhode Island

It’s finally ‘slow-season’ (as us wedding photographers like to call it) and at the top of my to-do list is to finally catch up with sharing some of our 2017 weddings that we were so blessed to be a part of! We had our busiest season yet this past year, and I really can’t thank our incredible couples and past clients enough. I smile every single day knowing that we have the opportunity to meet the most amazing couples and be a part of their big day.

I know that if you live in New England like I do, you’re likely completely OVER this winter weather. SO, in honor of us all desperately daydreaming of warmer days, let’s set our wedding rewind back to July with Jennifer + Timothy’s perfect oceanfront intimate wedding!

This turned out to be a small destination wedding for many, with family + friends coming from all over including Ireland, New Jersey, and New York City – just to name a few. About 30 of the couples close friends and family gathered out by the iconic Castle Hill lighthouse at the head of Newport Harbor for the ceremony with the ocean as their backdrop. It was a perfect + bright summer day – you really couldn’t have asked for a better setting! The property at Castle Hill Inn is vast and offers so much beauty for wedding celebrations. It’s one of my favorite Newport wedding venues – or rather, one of my favorite venues in Rhode Island overall.

After the ceremony, Jennifer + Timothy joined their guests for a fun cocktail hour on the Great Lawn just in front of the Inn. In true ‘city by the sea’ fashion, a bunch of clouds and hazed rolled in to cover the bright blue skies just before sunset. Moments before heading into the dining room for dinner and giving up on our hope for one last set of sunset portraits..something magical happened! We were graced with one of the most amazing and colorful sunsets I have ever seen. That is NO exaggeration – this sunset was absolutely killer. Everyone was blown away and we were all sure that it was a gift from Mother Nature to this sweet couple on their wedding day.

The night ended with a delicious multiple course dinner in a private dining room of the Inn. Congratulations again to Jennifer + Timothy!
