Little Superhero Portrait Session: Nick & Brody – Providence, Rhode Island Family Portrait Photographer

In a world run by technology, smartphones (yes, I am guilty too!), electronic games and social media…I want to take a minute and honor the innocence of a young child and the power of our own imaginations.

My friend Michela asked me to take some photos of her two step-children, Nick & Brody for Father’s Day & Brody’s 5th birthday. Anyone who knows these boys, knows that they are Superhero Superfans. It’s literally the cutest thing ever. The three of them (Mic & the boys) march on into RBF Fitness on the weekends in full matching Batman attire – socks, shorts, shirt…I think I’ve even seen masks! So, naturally, Michela requested a costumed-out Superhero shoot – and..just as naturally, I said UH YES!

It was a mini session so we scurried around changing outfits and asking the boys to run around ‘flying’ and jump off every object we saw in the park. It was so refreshing to see a couple of young boys using their imaginations & playing outside with nothing but some costumes and each other. I think we need a little more of that back in our worlds.
