Emily + Nikolay: Travel Themed Fall Wedding at the Glen Manor House in Portsmouth, Rhode Island

I was SO excited for Emily + Nikolay’s wedding at Glen Manor House this past fall. First of all – Glen Manor House is one of my favorite RI venues (you really can’t beat it) and secondly, I absolutely loved the vision they had described to me leading up to the day.

I first met Emily + Nikolay for their engagement session in NYC (you can see that here!) where the couple currently live together. Both Rhode Island natives, the pair met while lifeguarding together – so it was fitting to have their wedding celebration at a beautiful RI venue overlooking the water.

The couple opted for a first look a couple hours before the ceremony, giving us ample time to stroll around the gorgeous grounds of the Glen and take tons of photos. It was so relaxing and fun working with the coupe and their wedding party while having the whole mansion to ourselves! Farrissey Floral Design brought in the most incredible array of bouquets for the girls – full of all kinds of different flowers. She added in a few pops of deep burgundy and red to match the girls dresses. The colors that were chosen matched up perfectly with the late October fall vibe.

The ceremony was short and sweet (but so meaningful) with Emily + Nikolay choosing to write their own vows. This couple loves to travel and it seems like they’re ALWAYS on an adventure, so it seemed so fitting that this would turn into the ‘theme’ of their wedding. The place cards and centerpieces were cleverly matched to be the countries they’ve traveled to together, and a photo of them in said country. LOVE that. Katie (of Glen Manor House) and Meagan (of Russell Morin) kept the day coordinated and rolling so flawlessly. Russell Morin served a delicious buffet that had everyone going up for seconds, and soon after B Sharp Entertainment kept the dance floor crowded all night. All in all, this was an absolutely perfect day for the couple!
