Amanda + Josh: Romantic Sunset Beach Wedding at Newport Beach House, Newport Rhode Island

In 2017, I happened to have a few really beautiful sunset hour wedding ceremonies. What could be better than a beach ceremony? Well obviously – a beach ceremony during that ‘golden’ sunset hour on a perfectly clear & warm early fall day! Newport offers some of the best wedding venues in New England, so you really can’t go wrong – but there’s just something about being on the beach.
As I continue to play blog catch-up on my 2017 weddings, I’m excited to share images from Amanda + Josh’s wedding day, and share a little bit about their love story. Believe it or not, these two first met at Amanda’s sisters wedding, where she was the Maid of Honor and Josh was Best Man. Talk about a match made in heaven, huh?! They were paired up for the day, completely hit it off, and have been together ever since. I absolutely LOVE that story!
I am so thrilled that I had the opportunity to meet and work with these two – just watching their genuine love and affection for each other was really something special. We took time early on in the day to do a first look at Cambria Hotel, and then venture off to Purgatory Chasm for a few portraits before heading to the venue – Newport Beach House, where we did just a few more photos before ceremony start. As the sun was setting after a beautiful a simple ceremony, we ran out onto the beach for a couple more bride + groom photos on First Beach. It just so happened that we had one of the most gorgeous colorful sunsets on this night – definitely someone up there giving them a little wedding gift ;) I really love shooting at Newport Beach House – just like all of the Longwood Venues, it has such a luxurious feel while being minimalistic and pure.
The reception was a blast, and the couple planned a special tribute song to Amanda’s parents, whose own wedding anniversary was on the same day! They danced to their own first dance song, and Amanda and her sisters joined toward the end. Maybe I teared up a little? Maaaaybe? ;)
