Jessica + Adam: Romantic, Rustic + Charming Fall Barn Wedding at The Barn at Gibbet Hill in Groton, Massachusetts.

If you are a native of Massachusetts (or New England as a whole) and you haven’t been to Gibbet Hill – YOU. MUST. GO. It is such a magical little place right in the middle of the super quaint town of Groton, MA. The first time I visited, it was to eat at Gibbet Hill Grill, which is quite literally a farm-to-fork restaurant. It sits on conservation farm land and they grow most of the produce they serve, developing the menu around what’s in season. On top of that, they outsource from other local farms in the area for everything else. If you’re a foodie, put this on your list ASAP! Now, over to The Barn at Gibbet Hill (just next to the restaurant). This venue is a 100 year old restored barn, overlooking said conservation land and rolling hills. It is stunning and I am always so giddy to shoot here!

Adam proposed to Jess over a private dinner in one of the silo’s at Gibbet Hill Grill, so naturally they decided to hold their wedding day in the barn next door. We lucked out with the weather and had a completely sunny and somewhat warm autumn day in late October. The couple decided do their first look down the isle during the ceremony, which was held inside the barn. As guests enjoyed cocktail hour on the porch overlooking the land, we took portraits in the gorgeous afternoon light just before sunset. Every single moment was perfect…literally. The reception set up in the barn was adorned with stunning tall+short floral centerpieces by the incredibly talented team at Les Fleurs, who also did all of the girls bouquets and the boutonnieres. Guys, Les Fleurs is THE real deal. I could not get over how beautiful EVERY arrangement was! The evening itself was kept on time and led by the amazing staff of Gibbet Hill – who are always so professional, kind, and helpful.

I love being involved in my clients wedding day because I simply just love seeing couples in love and on the best day of their life. I love the energy, the emotion, the excitement and seeing people with smiles on their faces. Jess + Adam have the type of love for each other that is so incredibly genuine and sincere. I first caught wind of this with how they spoke of each other in our initial meeting, and then the exchanging of wedding gifts, then it followed through with the look in each others eyes down the isle, and THOSE VOWS. Holy moly. I usually shed a little tear during ceremonies – and you can bet I did here. And simply, just the way they held each other during their portraits alone together (always followed by making each other crack up) – this was by far my favorite part of the day.

Jessica + Adam, you two are a real gem. From the moment I met ya’ll over a beer at River Styx Brewery, I knew I’d be walking away from the wedding with a couple new kickass friends. I’m so happy you invited me to be a part of your day, and want to wish you all the continued love + happiness in the world!
